AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FANS FROM ROGER MASON JR:
As many of you know, I injured my hand this season and have been playing through the pain for a few weeks now. I had to make the very difficult decision to end my season a little early to have the necessary surgery. I feel so blessed and proud to have shared this season back home in DC with all of you amazing fans!
I want to take this chance to thank every single one of you that came to a game, bought a jersey, watched us on TV, tweeted your support or took any time out of your day to support this hungry young team! It has meant the world!
Until next time, stay blessed!

Ted Leonsis is founder, chairman, majority owner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which owns and operates the Washington Wizards, as well as: Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Mystics (WNBA) and Verizon Center in downtown Washington, D.C. Following my announcement that I would be leaving prematurely to have surgery this week, he dedicated an entry to me on his personal blog Ted's Take.
Here is an excerpt:
"He will be missed. I truly appreciated his time here this season; he was a steadying and positive influence on our young players; we are playing all rookies and second year players and Roger Mason was a “rock” in terms of providing counsel and leadership."
Please take time to read the full article here. I would like to thank Ted Leonsis for his kind words and incredible leadership.
Blessings,
-Mase
